Tax Return Workshop
Note: You should attend the Tax Return Information Session prior to attending one of these workshops.
Representatives from Revenue Canada will be present to assist you (McMaster international students) in preparing your own tax returns. The tax return workshops will be set up with volunteers that will sit one on one with you and help you file your taxes online. You must bring your laptop and any documents that you were told to bring during the Tax Return Information Session.
Space is limited. You must register to reserve your spot. Four workstations will be set up and registered attendees will be helped on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Mentorship Training Session
ISS offers a Mentorship Program, which provides support for international and exchange students in making the transition to McMaster University and life in Canada.
These hour-long training sessions are scheduled for current and incoming Mentors. The purpose is to help Mentors become more familiarize with the Mentorship program, and it will serve as an opportunity to discuss the goals and visions of the program.

Welcome Orientation for New Exchange Students
This Welcome Orientation is for new exchange students to McMaster University. Our day will begin at 1:00pm in the Burke Science Building (BSB), room B136 (basement level). Students will be given an introduction to studying at McMaster University and living in the city of Hamilton. After the session, join us for a tour around campus and sites of interest. Our day will conclude with a complementary dinner at 5:30pm.

Tax Return Information Session
If you are in Canada as an international student, it is important that you understand what your rights, entitlements, and obligations are under Canada's tax system. It is your responsibility to determine your income tax status, and make sure to pay your required amount of taxes for each year according to the law. Representatives from the Canada Revenue Agency will be presenting at the information session and help you understand the steps needed to file your tax return.
If you do not have a S.I.N. number, please ensure you have an I.T.N (Indivdual Tax Number). You can apply for an I.T.N here: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/tf/t1261/README.html.
Note: It is STRONGLY recommended that you attend the information session PRIOR to attending the tax return workshops. The tax return workshops will be set up with volunteers that will sit one on one with you and help you file your taxes online.
